A Lifetime of Woodworking: Don White, RSE General Carpenter
My passion for carpentry and woodworking is somewhat of an addiction that I have inherited from my father, who had it passed onto him by his father. Sawdust runs thick through our veins.

I began my woodworking journey to become a carpenter during my high school years. Shop class confirmed to me that my career path would be in the construction industry. By the time I was seventeen, I had built two houses and done numerous renovation projects. After graduation I signed up with the province of Ontario's carpentry apprentice program. My career path to become a red seal journeyman carpenter had begun. I spent four years working throughout Toronto on various commercial projects, gaining my required work hours and completing trade school. Once my apprenticeship was completed, I was off to college for three years, obtaining my diploma in Construction Engineering Technology Management.

Over my past thirty-four years of working in the construction industry, woodworking has continued to be my creative outlet. If I'm not tearing something apart and rebuilding it, I can be found in the shop, utilizing my finish carpentry skills.

Oh yeah, what is that RSE designation at the end of my name? That stands for Red Seal Endorsement, meaning I have put in the required work and trade school hours to successfully complete the carpentry apprenticeship program and I have obtained my Certificate of Qualification as a General Carpenter.
